FAQs
How do I know my application has been received?
You will receive an automatic confirmation email from Inspire People as soon as your application has been successfully submitted.
How long will the process take?
We aim to review applications no later than 5 working days of the advert closing date. If you’re longlisted, we’ll contact you with next steps. You’ll receive updates even if you are not selected.
Will I receive feedback if I’m not shortlisted?
Due to high application volumes, we cannot provide individual feedback at the CV stage. However, if you are interviewed, we will always provide feedback.
Who reviews my application? Is it automated?
All applications are reviewed by a human recruiter. Where technical skills are critical, we involve specialist reviewers. We do not use AI to make shortlisting decisions.
What’s the structure of the recruitment process?
While it may vary by role, our process typically includes:
- CV review and screening
- A video or phone interview
- A written task or technical test (for some roles)
- Final interview with the panel
We’ll let you know specific steps when you’re shortlisted for a role.
Can I get help preparing for interviews?
Yes! Inspire People will guide you through the interview format, topics to focus on, and how to prepare. Please don’t hesitate to ask for additional support.
What should my CV include for Civil Service roles?
Please ensure your CV is tailored to the role, with:
– Clear evidence of required skills listed in the Essential Skills and Experience section
– Dates and details of relevant experience
– Quantifiable achievements where possible
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
You must ensure that any evidence submitted as part of your application or used during interview is truthful and factually accurate. Applications may be rejected if plagiarism is detected. Examples of plagiarism can include presenting the ideas and experiences of others, or concepts generated by artificial intelligence, as your own.
I have a disability or health condition. Can adjustments be made?
Yes. We’re committed to inclusive hiring. Please let us know about any adjustments you need to support your application or interviews.
Why is the process taking longer than expected?
Some delays may be caused by role-specific timelines, security clearance (where applicable), or interview panel (where applicable) availability. If you’re waiting on a final outcome, we will keep you informed.
I haven’t heard anything since my interview/application. What should I do?
If it’s been more than 10 working days since your last update, please feel free to follow up with us directly at hello@inspirepeople.net or call the Team on 0845 450 4000 / 020 7871 8550.
What if I was previously unsuccessful – can I reapply?
Absolutely. We encourage reapplications, especially if you’ve gained additional experience or training since your last application.
Is this process fair to internal and external candidates?
Yes. All candidates are assessed against the same criteria. We do not favour internal applicants and assess all submissions consistently.
